A whine?

I'm feeling a little odd. A little whiny.

My logical mind says to keep working on the new book. I started this morning, and it was easier than I thought...but my heart says to work on the sequel to my heart book.

What would you do? I thought I might compromise and do both....the new book more than the sequel, but still work on it. I do adore this series with all my being. Kind of like a carrot for an extremely stubborn donkey.

I'm doing two at once. Three if you count TROUBLE which I've been tweaking for over a year.

The nice thing about working on two books at a time is that if you're stuck you can switch. You're writing no matter what.

The bad thing is that you can start getting confused, or missing the voice because it's sometimes hard to switch to a different mood for the next project.

(In any case, I have to get back at it now that I'm about to send a fat yellow envelope on its way...!)

I can't work on two at the same time. I am not that talented! :) I couldn't even edit one and write one at the same time initially. I'd lose the voice that's talking in my head.

That's just me, though.

If you can juggle it, try doing one at one time of day and another at another time of day. Or one during the week and the other on the weekend. Give them each their own space.

Or, if you really, really have your heart in one, do that one.

I tried for a while writing the book I'd been planning since I started editing my first, but my heart just wasn't in it. It was such a struggle. When I finally gave in to the story my heart wanted, it was so much easier, and I am so much more excited. I hope my enthusiasm comes through in the book.

The other one... well, it's still there lurking if I ever want to go back to it.
