Word-A-THON update

Friday I managed 2,339 words. The end is nigh, here.

I had to stop because something happened. Something died in my MS that I wasn't prepared for. I knew at some point in one of the books this something would die, but man, I didn't think it would be *now*.

So I had to stop. I was bawling.

I'm getting real close to done.

Aw man. Ive been there. It's hard, but take heart- if your own book makes you cry, it'll probably tug at somebody else's heart too.

Take a break. And you'll get back at it.

Great progress!!!

The dying thing sucks. It's happened to me, too. It's so sad, I think, because we feel like these people are so real to us.

The good news, like HTH said, is if it makes you cry, it will touch someone else too, and that's a good thing.

I had a scene like that in this book. I actually had a really hard time making myself start writing it because it would be so rough on my character. So, hopefully that translates, and the reader will feel that emotional connection.

Great progress!
